Over the last 10 years in particular, the availability of overseas sports tours has increased significantly with many of you taking your school/club teams for pre-season training and intense competition as well as more spectators travelling to support your national team too. You have all enjoyed the ‘freedom of travel’ and ‘tourism opportunities’ brought by these tours and have come to consider the experience an important part of your hobby.
Then suddenly, in March 2020 the Coronavirus Pandemic brought a halt to everything we take for granted causing a global crisis of unprecedented scale to many industries including ours.
At Lions Sports Travel however, we remain positive and believe that this current standstill is temporary. We believe that once this crisis is over, and it is safe to do so, people will be eager to return to normality and recommence training/supporting and so we have been preparing relentlessly to bounce right back into action when the time is right. Of course, there will be several changes required to comply with government guidelines and our specialist teams have been working closely with our travel partners and ground crews in each of our featured countries to comply with the increased regulations and to ensure your safety and well-being throughout.
A personalised and bespoke service has never been more important than right now and that is where we at Lions Sports Travel have the edge and excel. We have first-hand experience of all our destinations to ensure you get the mix of matches, culture and site seeing that suits you. We will also allocate you with a personal account’s manager and 24/7 assistance during the tour so you’ve always someone to talk to; together we are able to create the perfect tailormade sports tour itinerary specifically to your requirements and ensure it runs like clockwork (even if we can’t guarantee your team win!).
We are fully bonded in compliance with the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992. This means that ALL payments you make to us for flight-inclusive trips are 100% protected by ATOL number 10574 issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, giving you absolute financial security.
Our primary duty of care is to that of our clients and staff. We will continue to monitor and manage the fast-changing travel advice to ensure your safety, well-being and satisfaction and endeavour to get you on tour again very soon!

As a minimum standard we have introduced the following special policies to our terms and conditions during the COVID -19 pandemic:
- Low deposits from as little as £200pp
- You can decide to delay your holiday at any time up to 45 days before your original departure date and re-book to travel on a new date within the next 11 months
- Amend your travel date free of charge up to 7 days before departure if diagnosed with COVID-19
- No administration fee for changes made to your bookings
- This promise is in place for any new bookings made until 31 March 2021
